Art Therapy Lab has observed and experienced how virtual spaces have also become therapeutic ones as online wellness services evolve.

This led us to develop a hybrid model of virtual and on-site services in order to make art therapy more accessible, connect people from all over the world, and create an open dialogue around mental health through creativity.

We collaborate with various non-clinical spaces including museums, independent arts collectives, non-profits organizations, and women-led businesses to create opportunities for community engagement through art therapy. Our collaborative work consists of short and long-term projects that offer the experience of art therapy through virtual exhibitions, groups, open studios, workshops, and more.

All of our art therapy experiences are based on community art therapy approaches and ideas. Art Therapy Lab works closely with our collaborators to design arts and health programming that aligns with their values, goals, and wellness objectives in order to best to support your community.

We also provide individual sessions and professional mentorship for those wanting to go deeper with their art practice but unsure where to start. All experiences are facilitated under the supervision of a Licensed and Board-Certified Art Therapist that has completed a graduate degree, board exam, and over 1500 hours of post-grad training prior to receiving licensure.

Disclaimer: Art therapy is widely known as a form of psychotherapy that integrates creative arts with talk therapy to inspire mental, emotional, and physical well-being. This is a clinical definition of art therapy. We want to differentiate that Art Therapy Lab is not clinically focused but rather community focused. We will never act as a primary therapist, diagnose, or replace treatment from a local mental health provider. If a person benefits from an Art Therapy Lab experience (yay!) & thinks clinical art therapy might be a next step, we are happy to guide them on how to find an art therapist in their area that provides individual or group psychotherapy.
