About Art Therapy Lab
An International Studio-Lab
Art Therapy Lab is an international, founder-led studio-lab working at the intersection of community-based art therapy, collaboration, and practice-based research.
We design and facilitate experiential art programs that support individual and collective wellbeing while engaging cultural context, relational process, and reflective inquiry. Our work moves between public workshops, professional development experiences, and collaborative partnerships in virtual and site-specific settings.
Art Therapy Lab is unique in that it exists as both a studio and a lab — a space where creative practice and reflective research inform one another.
Our Story
Art Therapy Lab began during the pandemic with The Art of Being Alone, an international collage project developed in collaboration with Paris Collage Collective. The initiative explored how art, used as a reflective and therapeutic tool, could reduce isolation and foster connection across geographic and cultural boundaries.
This early work led to expanded international, community-based art therapy initiatives and interdisciplinary collaboration across educational, nonprofit, and arts contexts. Over time, the practice evolved into a studio-lab model, holding space for creative practice, professional reflection, and research-informed learning to coexist.
Today, Art Therapy Lab operates internationally through virtual programs, an international residency in Latvia, and collaborative projects.
