Art Therapy Lab

Where art meets mental health.

Experience the healing power of art, community, and collaboration with us.

Art Therapy Lab is a small, independent platform that connects people worldwide to experience how art heals. We are a place for those with an interest in art and a curiosity for self-growth.

Our Vision

Founded by Licensed and Board-Certified Art Therapist Julia Volonts, Art Therapy Lab designs healing arts experiences within virtual and community spaces. We focus on community-based practice, interdisciplinary collaboration, and accessible programming at the intersections of art therapy and arts in health.

Our vision is to:

  • Connect globally through art-making

  • Expand access with partnerships + collaboration

  • Support future practitioners in art therapy and arts in health

What We Offer

  • Groups & Workshops

We offer virtual groups and collaborative workshops that create accessible opportunities to experience art in its therapeutic form. Each emphasizes process over product to create space for self-expression and connection with others through the shared experience of art-making.

Upcoming: [Collage] Art Therapy Group — November 6

  • International Residency

Our in-person summer residency at Studija Space in Kuldīga, Latvia, invites participants to expand their professional practice, explore eco-art therapy, and learn alongside other disciplines.

Next open call coming early 2026.

  • Future Thinkers Mentorship Program

A new mentorship program designed for art therapists, artists, and arts-in-health practitioners who are ready to turn ideas into collaborative projects and connect with a global community. The program is five sessions over Zoom.

    Launching 2026

Reflection & Inquiry

Art Therapy Lab is evolving its research identity into a space of dialogue and collaboration between art therapy and the broader arts in health movement, exploring how both fields can work together to support ethical and socially responsible community care.

As we move forward, we hope to connect more deeply with our existing community and continue building an international network curious about how art heals and how we can grow together. We invite you to join our community of creatives from over 45 countries by signing up for our newsletter.
