Art Therapy Lab
— an evolving space for international community, interdisciplinary collaboration, and research.
Our Mission
Art Therapy Lab is an independent platform founded by internationally experienced art therapist, artist, and educator Julia Volonts. We design healing arts programs within virtual and community spaces in the form of community workshops, international residencies, professional development initiatives, and more.
Our work is person-centered and art therapy informed, emphasizing relational, culturally responsible community engagement through art, with a mission is to:
Connect globally through art-making
Expand access with partnerships + collaboration
Support future practitioners in art therapy and arts in health

Reflection & Inquiry
Art Therapy Lab is evolving its research identity into a space of dialogue and collaboration between art therapy and the broader arts in health movement, exploring how both fields can work together to support ethical and socially responsible community care.
As we move forward, we hope to connect more deeply with our existing community and continue building an international network curious about how art heals and how we can grow together. We invite you to join our community of creatives from over 45 countries by signing up for our newsletter.
